Smilla's Sense of Snow is a 1997 thriller film directed by Bille August, based on the book Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow (original Danish title: Frøken Smillas fornemmelse for sne) a 1992 novel by Danish author Peter Høeg, starring Julia Ormond, Gabriel Byrne, Tom Wilkinson, Jim Broadbent, Robert Loggia and Richard Harris. Scenes from the film were shot in Copenhagen and in the abandoned settlement of Ataa in western Greenland.
