Waking Madison, (originally titled Mad World), is an independent drama/thriller film written and directed by Katherine Brooks and starring Sarah Roemer and Elisabeth Shue. It is currently in post-production. The film was screened for the first time at the Newport Beach Film Festival, in Costa Mesa, California, on May 2, 2011. The film was released straight-to-DVD on July 12, 2011. Madison (Sarah Roemer) is a phone sex operator living in New Orleans. When a series of events leaves her suicidal and desperate, she locks herself away in her apartment for 30 days. Using a video camera to document herself like a visual journal, Madison vows that if she does not have the answer to her questions and feel more at peace with her life, she will kill herself on the 30th day. Filming took place in New Orleans starting on November 5, 2007.
